Worth Matravers, Dorset

The Cottage is situated in Worth Matravers, a pretty village in the Isle of Purbeck, situated on the Jurassic Coast now a World Heritage Site, four miles from both Swanage and Corfe Castle. The sheltered village is set in the beautiful Purbeck Hills and is an excellent centre for walking and the sea. It is a three quarters of a mile stroll to Winspit Cove, where swimming and snorkeling are possible in summer. Swanage and Studland, are nearby for sandy beaches, safe swimming and water sports. The cottage sleeps 4/6. Sympathetically modernised, it is a listed building of local Purbeck stone and dates from the 18th Century. In the midst of a conservation area, it is the end cottage of a terrace with the front door opening onto a green and a track to the sea. Garage parking is immediately adjacent across a quiet lane. The cottage is close to the village green, church, duckpond and Square and Compass pub. Buses to Swanage and Wareham (British Rail). Worth Matravers is about 130 miles by road from London from which it can be reached in good traffic in under 3 hours, via the M3/M 27.
